BD Biosciences research grants provide funding to scientists pursuing innovative ideas that advance our understanding of disease

Author: BD Biosciences

BD Biosciences Research Grants –a program open to scientists and R&D labs in the US and selected European countries only- aim to reward and enable important research by providing vital funding to scientists pursuing innovative experiments that advance the scientific understanding of disease. This ongoing program includes grants for immunology and cancer research, totaling $240,000 annually in BD Biosciences research reagents –it does not cover funding for instrumentation-.

Grant applications are reviewed by a panel of distinguished non-BD affiliated research scientists. Awards are based on an application’s creativity, content, and innovation, including how the applicant proposes to use BD Biosciences reagents to further his or her research study’s goals. The Winter 2016 Award Cycle for cancer research grant is currently open. Applications for this program began in April 2016 and its deadline is on September 1, 2016. Winners will be announced on December 1, 2016.

The BD Biosciences immunology research program, although it is not currently open, aims to recognize promising research within areas such as multicolor flow cytometry, cell signaling, cancer research, immune function, infectious diseases, and neuroscience research. A total of $140,000 worth of BD Biosciences research reagents are awarded annually to 14 scientists. Through the grant program, BD Biosciences works to support innovation in research and development, helping to define the next generation of scientific breakthrough.

On the other hand, the BD Biosciences cancer research grants are committed to supporting the evolving field of cancer research. This program is nowadays open and a total of $100,000 worth of research reagents are awarded annually to 10 scientists. Through the grant program, BD Biosciences supports scientists pursuing innovative ideas in cancer research, helping to define the next generation of scientific breakthroughs.
